A 1 day introductory course to help you understand the model of mental toughness and
cope better under pressure
Why Should You Consider This Programme?
The degree of mental toughness possessed by an individual determines their capacity
to handle stress and helps predict why some people are likely to be successful where
others fail. It is a key component of leadership. This course is designed to enable
managers to understand the model of mental toughness, how to assess themselves and
others and raise awareness of the techniques used to develop greater degrees of
mental toughness/resilience to better cope with the stresses and pressures of
life. It also covers stress, the HSE model of workplace stress and how to reduce
the risks.
Who is the Programme For?
The understanding gained from this course will help leaders and managers better
coach and develop themselves to achieve successful results. It will also help
them to inspire and lead by example, building organisation-wide resilient
behaviours.
How does the programme work?
We use MTQ48, the only psychometric tool for measuring mental toughness. MTQ48
provides a reliable assessment of an individual’s ability to withstand pressure
in a range of environments. As part of the course all delegates will be given
a full assessment of their current levels of mental toughness.
Peer learning is facilitated through a mixture of group activities and
discussion, guided reflections and co-coaching work. Case studies and
demonstrations are used throughout to embed effective learning and
bring new skills into apparent behaviour.
